Difference between Lace Front and Skintop

When choosing a wig, the focus is often on lace front and skintop wigs. Both variants offer unique advantages and are suitable for different needs and preferences. Here are the main differences between these two wig types:

Lace Front Wigs:

Lace front wigs are characterized by their front, which is made of a fine lace material (lace). This lace material is attached to the forehead and creates the illusion that the hair grows directly from the scalp. This creates a particularly natural hairline. The lace base allows the hair to be styled away from the face, offering great versatility in styling. Another advantage of lace front wigs is the breathability of the lace material, which makes them more comfortable to wear, especially during prolonged use.

Skintop Wigs:

Skintop wigs, on the other hand, have a base made of a thin, skin-like material known as a “skintop”, which imitates the scalp. This base gives the crown area of the wig a particularly realistic look, as the hair appears to grow directly out of the “skin”. Although skintop wigs are less versatile when it comes to styling, as the skintop area is often only present in certain areas, such as the crown, they still offer a very natural look.

The choice between a lace front and a skintop wig ultimately depends on individual needs and preferences. Both variants have their own advantages and offer different ways of achieving the desired look.
